It is found that the annual fall of fir forest in dry weight ranged from 0.5 to 4.0 ton/ha and total mass of forest floor in dry weight averaged about 40 ton/ha. After observation and various experiments, the pattern of mineral cycle of forest floor, the role of forest floor in ecosystems mineral and water transformation, and the effects of floor layer on distribution, growth and development of forest plants are discussed.
