Abstract: The Taibai mountain is a part of the Qinling mountains range, which is one of the famous mountains in our country. The summit of which is more than 3767 m. above sea level, mountain range is abrupt, whereabout climate is various, and vegetation vertical zone is obvious, natural environment is kept hold of integrity, which is one ideal place for study of environment background values. We collected constructive and dominant species plants of vegetation vertical zone, and dug out the community soil profile. The contents of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, S, Cl, B, etc. in samples of plants and soil were measured by means of physical and chemical methods. In the meantime, we investigated the relation between effective element in soils and plants, and calculated the absorbing coefficient of plants correlativity of pH. value in soil. According to above result of study, the plant element background values of the Taibai mountain were obtained. We considered that in the natural environment condition element of plants is stable fundamently. Among the elements there are specific ratid, therefore, the average element contents may be considered as the element background value of plants.
