Abstract: According to the morphological characters of the genus Mollugo L. Such as; the capsular dehiscence, the appendage of seed present or not, the types of inflorescens, the number of stamen, and the shape of leaf, types of pubescence, the author reassumes that there are two species out of the eight species in China which are different from the others. Therefore, it is necessary to restore in China the genus GUnus L. which was es-tablished by Linaeus in 1753. Besides, the paper provided a key of these two genera and eight species, with two new record species and tentative map of geographic distribution mainly in China.
