Abstract: Pinus yunnanensis var. tenuifolia, constituting a natural forest and forming an important base of timber production, is extensively distributed in the hills and mountains with an altitude from 300-1600m. along the lower Nanpanjiang river. The tree has a high ability to resist firing and adapt for rather dry and warm climate and soil conditions. However, the Pinus forest is frequently destroyed by burning in the early stage. Therefore, to control firing and promote reproduction and growth of this forest will be necessary.
