Abstract: The 143 cm deep soil profile was made on lacustrine plain of Diaojiaohaizi lake (41˚07′N, 112˚34′E) which is located on Huitengliang tableland (200m a. s. l. ) of Daqing mountains. 143 high resolution samples (66a/cm) and 13 radio-carbon dates ranging from 11440±135a B. P. to 2170±70a B. P. were obtained. The depth versus age diagram shows good linear relations between the depth and the age. Spore pollen analysis results of 67 samples show that the highest value of the total pollen concentration was 24600 grains per gram and the lowest was 0~20 grains per gram. In the pollen diagram, five pollen zones and nine pollen subzones were divided through stratigraphically constrained cluster analysis using the method of incremental sum of squares, based on which the vegetation evolution history was reconstructed and the environmental changes since 11ka B.P. were investigated.
