This paper investigates the dynamics of biomass and the allocation of energy for main communities of Kobresia pygmaea meadow, K, humilis meadow and K. tibetica swamp meadow of alpine meadow ecosystem in range of Haibei Qinghai. The results are the following: The difference were obvious in annual aboveground net production and seasonal dynamics of main group biomass among the different community types. The seasonal changes were predicted by logistic equation:
Wi = Ki/( 1+ exp (Ai- Bit) )
The vertical distribution of aboveground biomass and that of belowground biomass displayed pyramidal and reverse pyramidal model,respectively. In K. pygmaea meadow, K. humilis meadow and K. tibetica swamp meadow, the aboveground net production was 368.4g·m-2·a-1, 418.5 g·m-2·a-1, 518.4g·m-2·a-1. The solar energy storage was 6650.16kJ·m-2·a-1, 7610.09kJ·m-2 ·a-1and 9488.77kJ·m-2·a-1 respectively, in the three communities. Their utilization rates of energy were 0.1097%,0.1256% and 0.1568% ,respectively.
